Very good quality but disastrous sizing

I bought four of these shoes and I really wanted to like them, but the sizing isn't right at all. I'm size 45-46 so I got 46 to be in the safe. In reality, it's a little too long even for a foot as big as mine, but too tight vertical wise. There isn't enough material to accommodate the height of my foot, so the fabric is pressing hard on the top arch of my foot causing pain and discomfort.
On a lesser note, the seemingly decorative laces have to be tied contrary to the product photos which is a nuisance.
